Steamed Bun & Adobo Hashbrowns.

Filipino Adobo Steam Bun Hashbrowns


  • 200 grams Farm Frites Mini Chunky Triangular Hashbrowns
  • 50 grams chopped cucumber
  • 50 grams sliced red onion
  • Pickled carrots
  • Chopped pork adobo
  • Coriander
  • Chinese steamed buns (Mantou)

Method of preparation:

1. Prepare the hashbrowns according to the package instructions.
2. Fill the Mantou bun with hashbrowns, pork adobo and vegetables.

Ingredients for pork adobo:

  • 500 grams pork belly
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon peppercorn
  • 4 cups water
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 5 tablespoon soy sauce

Method of preparation:

1. Stir-fry pork belly until cooked through and move to a pot.
2. Add water, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves and pepper. Heat and bring to a boil, season with soy sauce and salt.
3. Lower the heat and simmer until the pork is tender. Chop the pork into bite-size and set aside.

Ingredients for pickled carrots:

  • 200 grams Julienned carrot
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup water

Method of preparation pickled carrot:

1. Add vinegar, sugar, salt and water into a pot. Bring to aboil then reduce to simmer, remove from heat and let cool completely.
2. Add carrot and mix well together. Refrigerate for 30-60 minutes.
