About Farm Frites in Saudi Arabia
Farm Frites has served customers across Saudi Arabia for more than 20 years. In May 2026 we took the next step: our new factory in Sudair Industrial City, Riyadh, started production, so our fries are now made in the Kingdom.
The plant brings together more than 50 years of potato expertise, global food safety standards and advanced IQF freezing technology. It produces frozen fries, coated line included. Customers get fresher products, faster, and a more reliable supply. Together with our partners, we support Saudi Vision 2030: growing local potato product manufacturing capacity from 10% to 30% and developing local talent along the way.
Farm Frites' Journey
1968 - The idea was born when Gerrit de Bruijne visited America for a study trip where he found the increasing popularity of the potato products such as chips and fries
1971 - Foundation of Farm Frites by Gerrit de Bruijne in South Holland where he started making pre-cooked fries on his own farm.
1975 - First production line in the Netherlands, everything was made by hand from peeling the potatoes to the frying stage.
1984 - First expansion outside of the Netherlands. Farm Frites purchased a Belgian production site in Lommel where fries were already very popular.
1988 - Foundation in Egypt as a joint venture between Farm Frites Holland and Kuwait Food Company (Americana).
2022 - KSA Factory Vision: the beginning of Farm Frites’ investment journey in Saudi Arabia.
2023 - Opening the MENA Sales Office as a regional hub, strengthening regional presence and customer proximity.
2024 - KSA Factory Ground-breaking: starting the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia.
2026 - KSA Factory Commissioning: bringing world-class frozen potato production to Saudi Arabia and supporting Saudi Vision2030 through local manufacturing, food security and economic development.
